About Us
Hi, I’m Fabiana.
This is my family, and this is my why.
I’m the mother of Milena and Manuela, two autistic girls who completely transformed the way I see the world, teach, and love.
For years, I tried to understand how to truly connect with them. Along the way, I discovered that teaching an autistic child is, above all, about learning to see the world through their eyes.
That’s how Mães que Ensinam (Mothers Who Teach) was born, a space where I share what I learn every day on this journey:
Real stories,
Practical strategies and tools I use with my daughters,
And heartfelt reflections on motherhood, inclusion, and neurodivergent education.
Here, there are no filters or romanticized versions of reality.
I talk about challenges, mistakes, and small victories, because I believe that love teaches, but it also challenges.
My goal is to welcome and inspire other mothers, educators, and families who, like me, seek more human and respectful ways to teach, communicate, and grow alongside their children.
You are so welcome here.
May this space remind you that perfection doesn’t exist in motherhood, but there is deep beauty in every sincere attempt to understand and love.
Let’s Talk?
This space is for you, a mother, caregiver, or educator living the day-to-day reality of autism.
I’d love to hear what touches your heart:
What topics would you like me to write about on the blog?
What challenges do you face with your child?
Do you have a story you’d like to share with me (or that you’d like me to help tell)?
Every message is a form of connection.
And who knows. maybe your story will inspire the next post that reaches other mothers too.
